Citizen Journalism Website.

Part of the reason for me moving to Canberra is to have access to facilities, organisations @ government, that are not readily available in other parts of Australia. I can base myself here while travelling to other parts of the country as well as overseas, to develop this Citizen Journalism concept further, while making & financing my own documentaries & Vlog's.

The main concept behind this Citizen Journalism website, is to design a Canberra based website with "Netregistry." An Australian company that allows individual businesses or organisations to create as well as edit there own website. Using provided tools on the Internet for a nominated low monthly fee.

I will establish this site myself, while designing a layout & functionallity (relevant sections & networking index as well as coordination of motojournalists), suitable for Citizen Journalism & links to people's video content on the Internet that is of public interest.

This concept will also involve finding motorcyclists, pilots & skippers that are passionate about having their own say as much as giving others within Australian communities, an opportunity on various topics, to express their views.

The main focus of this website will be on the subject of "Environmental Change". This shall include the obvious impacts that Global Warming has on people & the environment, both Natural and Artificial. As well as suggestions by members of the public as to possible solutions.

Other subjects shall include topics such as Internet Neutrality, water, Alternate & Sustainable forms for delivery of future Energy, fuels & transport.

Moving To Canberra.
Topic: Leaving Port Stephens.

It has been a while since my last entry & and a lot has happened since then. I finally was able to complete my removal & set up a base here in Canberra, to start my Citizen Journalism website. Un- fortunately the area from which I came from is lacking suitable broadband speeds as well as accessability for the general public.

Canberra on the other hand. Offers an ideal base with suitable contacts for me to start the website. While I travel around the country/overseas, creating documentaries, Vlog's & informing people of what I am doing and how they can become involved, if they so choose.

Since arriving in Canberra. I have been searching the local newspapers public notices & the Internet. I have also been attending a number of social gatherings to get a feel of the mood here in Canberra for change as well as how much awareness there is of what is going on in the outside world. Away from the normal comfort zones that people put in place to protect themselves from life.

MRA ACT, 2006 Toy Run.
Topic: Photo's

I recently attended the 2006 MRA ACT Motorcycle Toy Run here in Canberra. Riding from the Old Parliament House to Garema place in Civic.

It has been 10 years since my last attendance at the Toy Run. Only this year I did not have a motorcycle (I am between bikes) so I jumped on to the end of the procession with my mountain bike. After waiting until I had finished taking some digital photo's of the motorbikes coming down Northbourne Avenue towards Civic.

There was a good attendance to the Toy Run & a fun time was had by all. Some of my photo's including a sample of a few that were taken in Garema place are available here for you to view @ toy_run_2006/ there are around 70 others to view at request, if you would like to purchase a print.

Electro Magnetic Pollution.

The concept of electromagnet pollution and how it effects people's immune systems and our vulnerabilities to external influences, acting as a catalyst to todays modern illnesses. Has created controversy in many countries throughout the world.

On one hand there is the scientific evidence that is becoming stronger and stronger. That implicates artificial, electro magnetic forces as a major contributing element in the down turn of human health. On the other hand because it is not the only factor involved, the scientists are reluctant to admit these effects due to the financial and legal implications involved.

The majority of my writings in this journal are of my own opinion on particular issues. I do not believe we always need the opinions of experts or scientific reports to back up our hunches from life experience, in order to believe. If we only accepted what the experts told us, then we would all be mindless robots, ignorant of the truth.

It was not that long ago that the so called experts were telling us that there was no such thing as global warming, cancer from passive smoke or asbestos. Sometimes there comes a time when scientists can no longer deny the obvious. I believe that electro magnetic pollution is the tobacco smoke of the 21st Century, only it is invisible to the eye.

If you do not believe me, then take a look at Dr Neil Cherry's website Dr Neil Cherry dedicated most of his later years gathering reports that substantiate the claims that electro magnetic pollutiion is real and bad for our health.

Financing My Stories.

As you can well imagine, financing my Citizen Video Journalism (video documentaries or Vlog's) needs to be done in a way that can allow myself to remain independent of external interests and the regular media corruption.

I have recently started a business in 2005 to do just this. Involving, helping people to sell their Aircraft, Boats & Motorbikes (Adventure Asset Sales) with the use of DVD/CD, USB drives & the Internet.

I am pioneering this external business concept as a source of financing my documentaries, Vlog's and Video Journalism. In the belief that I will be able to support myself with a regular income. Therefore allowing me to follow stories independent of external influence.

If you would like to take a closer look at the services that I can provide as a New Media Freelancer For Aircraft, Boat & Motorbike Sales, then you are more than welcome to view my website @

Environmental Change
My reason for creating this Blog, is to encourage discussion on the many issues of Environmental Change. There are countless sub-groups of this topic, that influence people's everyday lives and will continue to effect society, even more into the future.

I have chosen Environmental Change for my main topic as I continue to evolve as a New Media, Citizen Video Journalist. Producing, capturing, editing my stories using digital video, that fall into this category and are not readily being addressed by "Mainstream Media".

I will be inviting members of the public to contact myself, in relation to possible stories that are related to this topic. If the stories are feasible, then I will consider including them in my work, depending on the particular circumstances.

I will also be encouraging others to take up the Citizen Journalism cause so that they can cover issues that directly effect their own communities.

Topics that I am presently interested in are anything to do with water, nuclear power, alternate forms of energy such as solar, wind etc, alternate fuels, electro-magnetic pollution. These are just a few that come to mind.

If you have a story or point of view on any of these topics or maybe you can suggest some others. I would be more than happy to hear from you. So please feel free to contact me.

Citizen Journalism.
Topic: Introduction.

The changing face of Journalism has come about by a shift in the way people want to receive their information.

Citizen Journalism, was created out of blogging on the Internet and the need for grass roots Journalism to be imparted by the average person or citizen, who are not Journalists by trade. Citizen Journalism has quickly gained foundation on the Internet with Blog's & Vlog's throughout many countries, including Australia to a small degree. The greatest advances have happen in 2005/2006 where the technology available to consumers has reached a level that can reasonably be used effectively.

This change in attitude to the way information and stories are presented to the public, comes from the preoccupation of mainstream Media to the Celebrity and topics that have very little importance to how a truly democratic society should operate by making informed decisions.

By only giving the public a small amount of selective information, societies can not be accurately informed on the important issues that effect ourselves and others as a society.

If people are only given a contrived and limited perspective that is strongly influenced by the Sources own agenda. Then how can people and members of the public, hope to make informed decisions that can considerably effect our future and the future of our children.

The true role of the Media in a democratic society. Is to act as a mediator between the public and the authorities such as the Government and Big Business. That have a major influence on the quality of our lives and our environment.

Journalists of the 20th Century have become Commercialists chasing the story that brings in the most money so that they can keep their jobs.

Journalists of the 21st Century are going to have to adapt and change with the times and present stories and information to the public that create discussion as well as differences of opinion.
